Your privacy in Phases
Your journal stays on this device
Cycle dates, check-ins, notes and reviewed Health values are stored locally in this browser or companion app. They are not synced to a Phases cloud journal. Clearing browser/app data or changing domains can remove access to those records. Use backup and restore to move them. Exported JSON, CSV and HTML files are plain files; keep them somewhere private.
Health access is your choice
The iPhone companion can request read access to selected Apple Health types. The Android companion can request read access to selected Health Connect types. Access happens when you request a review. Only the sleep and bleeding values you explicitly select are saved in ordinary local check-ins. Sensor temperatures, sample IDs and source identifiers are not saved in your journal. Phases does not write to either Health store or use health data for advertising or checkout.
Optional connected care
A connected account uses your verified email and a sign-in session. You can invite a specific email address. The other person must sign in as that email and accept. Only the summary and support preferences you choose are encrypted on your device and uploaded to the separate Phases service. Its decryption key is in the private invitation and device storage, rather than the server database. Do not post invitation links publicly. Full journals and raw Health records are not shared.
Expiry and disconnect
Shared days expire after 24 hours and expired envelopes are removed from the active service by its minute scheduler. Either person can disconnect; the service stops access to that connection. Information already viewed or saved by another person cannot be recalled. Service backups follow the hosting provider’s retention. A recipient’s device may retain a private connection key.
Notifications
Notifications require permission and a registered device. The service stores a push registration, reminder schedule, timezone and delivery attempt status. Lock-screen messages contain generic Phases wording, without a phase, symptoms or names. Provider acceptance is not confirmation that a phone displayed a message. Disable reminders in Connected care or device settings. There is no background Health collection for notifications.
Service providers and purchases
Supabase hosts optional account, encrypted-summary and reminder services. Resend delivers requested sign-in emails. Apple, Google or browser push services route notifications where configured. Network providers process operational metadata such as IP addresses to deliver and protect these services. Shopify handles any available physical-product checkout and its payment/shipping information. Only product selection and quantity are placed in checkout links, not journal information. This app has no advertising analytics or AI health assistant.
Delete or contact us
In Connected care, choose Delete connected account and confirm to remove your account, connections and notification registrations from the active service. Your local journal is kept. Use Settings → Delete records to erase the local tracker separately. For help or privacy requests, contact [email protected].
